DIY Taco Lunch

As I was saying...the girls want cafeteria food. And I can't let them do that. So I improvise! Thursday: Tacos! (Oh, and Picky Eater's new nickname is Fancy, because she eats whatever tickles her fancy.)

Fancy has taco meat in her Thermos, green grapes, a mini cupcake, blue corn taco shells, shredded cheddar, lettuce, and sour cream. Juice to drink.

Bayberry is taking the same thing, except she also has tomatoes, green onions, and yogurt star cookies. She's also taking juice.

  1. Yogurt star cookies? Do tell! Are they made, or bought? So cute!

  2. They're store bought. I picked them up at Earth Fare, which I believe is only in the southeast. They're so very tasty.

  3. Did the kids find that the taco shells weren't crunchy by the time lunch rolled around? That would be my worry with the moistness factor of lettuce and cheese. LOVE the idea though!

  4. Nah -- if you dry the lettuce well, it's fine, and the cheese isn't moist. I'd be more concerned with the tomatoes, but they aren't a problem. Everything is strategically placed. If you're still concerned, cupcake liners make great dividers. :)

  5. Isn't that funny...my kiddos want to buy lunches too!! But yesterday my son told me the lunch ladies were impressed with his lunch. Maybe they will take some pointers. :)
