Lunch for Tuesday

First, thank you for your kind words and understanding last week. It made me feel much better about the whole situation. :)

On to lunch time. The kids had today off from school due to Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, so Tuesday is our first school day of the week.

I love these little containers. I found them at Dollar Tree, and they came eight or so to a package. They're perfect for holding in messy foods, like the ones I'm sending with the girls tomorrow.

Above, you see what Bayberry will see when she takes the lid off of her Easy LunchBox. Her foods are all separate and neat.

Below, I've taken the lids off so you can see the foods.

The girls have the same lunches for Tuesday: Tuna salad (with green onions for Bayberry but without for Fancy), crackers, sliced blood orange, string cheese, vanilla Greek yogurt, and chocolate delight granola (made by Back to Nature brand, and fabulous!). They'll be taking Dark Chocolate Pure Almond milk to drink.

  2. I think I'll be headed to dollar tree to check those out. I've been looking for something that isn't so deep that will fit in the easy lunch boxes. Thanks!

  4. I see BayBerry is back to your packed lunches! are you relieved that you know what is going to her lunch or are you ok with it that she sometime buy food from the cafeteria?

  5. do those containers have the "recessed" lids? I find those hold things in each compartment a little bit better. I have bought the ziploc ones in the past because they have those type of lids, but I'd love to get some new ones for that price! Also, thanks for all your inspiration! I pack lunches for 3 kids and you have definitely gotten me out of the "sandwich/chips/fruit" rut.

  8. Yep these little containers are perfect. I wish I'd thought of them at the beginning of the school year. Live and learn. I have many years of lunches to go! ;)

I am glad Bayberry is taking lunch. I didn't give her a choice last night. Just said, "here's what you're taking" and she said okay.

  9. Can you remind me again where you got your silicone cups and what brand they are? Are they pretty good about holding the items in? Thanks.

  10. Sure, Kristen. I bought them from Amazon.com, and they're Wilton brand. They don't have a lid, but they're great for keeping foods divided in the bento boxes.

  11. I couldn't find those cute, small containers at my Dollar Tree :( What section were they in? Were they with the other tupperware type stuff?

  12. aww I wonder if they're all gone! You know how the dollar store is constantly restocking. They were on an endcap, I remember that much. Keep looking. I regularly see all sorts of interesting shaped containers and accessories for lunches.
